Certified translation of Dutch birth certificates
If you require a certified translation of Dutch birth certificate, I can provide one at fairly short notice.
If you require a birth certificate to register your child with a foreign state, it is best to obtain a regular Dutch birth certificate as the basis for the translation and not an international birth certificate. Many authorities do not accept the international birth certificate. The translation of a regular Dutch birth certificate results in a better and clearer document.

Please include a good quality scan of all pages of the Dutch birth certificate (Akte van Geboorte) (at least 300 dpi). See the image below for an idea of what the Birth Certificate should look like. - I will send you an offer for the translation of the document.
- If you agree to the offer, kindly confirm this by email, stating your postal address. If you wish to collect the translation in person, please state this as well.
- If the authority that requires the certified/sworn translation states that it must be attached to the original document, you will have to collect the translation in person or send me the original by post. Please contact me about this beforehand.
- Once the translation has been completed, I will send you an invoice. This should be paid in full before delivery of the translation.
- Once payment of the invoice has been received, I will send you two PDF versions of the certified translation. One version will be password protected, the other will not be password protected. The reason for this is that some authorities require password-protected electronic documents. Other authorities have automatic systems that convert PDF documents into a form that can be stored electronically and sometimes cannot process password-protected documents.
- In addition to the PDF documents, I will send you the printed, original version of the certified translation. This should be kept in a safe place. The printed version (hardcopy) with my signature and seal is the authentic (i.e. the legally valid) version which you may be required to show.
